 Polishing your Manuscript for the Golden Heart October 26th-30th It's that time of year again - the 2010 Golden Heart contest is open for entries! In this one week online workshop we’ll be going over some easy ways to take your entry from good to polished and a winner! Wow the judges with a professional looking submission they can’t out down. I’ll be focusing on practical ways to amp up your entry, including: - Quick Fix Common Mistakes - Power Editing - Show vs. Tell - Backstory - Sensory Details to make your story pop - Common Grammar Gaffes - Guy Speak - Dialogue - and more! Instructor Bio: Gemma Halliday is the author of the High Heels Mysteries, as well as this fall’s upcoming Hollywood Headlines romantic mystery series. Gemma’s books have won a multitude of awards, including a Golden Heart, a National Reader’s Choice award and two RITA nominations. She’s sold foreign rights for two of her novels and optioned television rights for her debut book, SPYING IN HIGH HEELS. Class is conducted online through a Yahoo! group.
