News 7.19.08 Undercover in High Heels is up for awards! That’s right, plural. (squee!) My third book is a finalist for the Book Buyer's Best Award, the Daphne Du Maurier Award of Excellence in Mystery/Suspense, and the National Readers Choice Award. All three announce their winners the last week in July at the Romance Writer’s of American national conference in San Francisco. I’ll be sure to let you know how it all turns out. In the meantime… keep your fingers crossed for me! 4.24.08 I have just signed on to write a new series that will be hitting bookstores in late 2009. It’s called the Hollywood series, and the stories all center around the L.A. Informer, Los Angeles’s premier tabloid magazine, reporting on all the latest celebrity gossip, scandals and dirt. They’re not above a little sensational exaggeration and have even been known, on occasion, to bend the law in pursuit of a hot story. Their ace reporter, Felix Dunn (whom you may recognize from the High Heels series), has just been promoted to managing editor. Now, he’s got his work cut out for him keeping the magazine running smoothly while keeping his staff in line, because each book in the series will follow a different one of the Informer's reporters as she investigates a story, unravels a mystery, and falls for her own fabulous hero. The first book is tentatively titled Hollywood Lies, with at least two more to follow in the coming months. 2.26.08 Alibi in High Heels is out today! I’m so excited to see Maddie’s fourth adventure hit the bookstore shelves. Don’t forget to enter my contest to win a fabulous Eiffel Tower necklace in celebration of the release! 2.1.08 My short story, “Mark of a Bond Girl” in the Dreams & Desires Vol 2 anthology goes on sale today!! This release is near and dear to my heart because all proceeds from the sale of this anthology go directly to help victims of domestic violence. So, not only are you buying a fabulous book chock full of 19 entertaining stories of love and romance from some of today’s top authors, you’re also helping a family in need get back on their feet and live their lives fear-free. I love that kind of win-win. In two weeks some of the wonderful authors who have donated their stories to this collection will be stopping by my blog to chat about their contributions to the anthology, so come by and say hi! 1.6.08 Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday. Mine was great – lots of friends, family, and goodies from the big guy in red. :) Already 2008 looks like it’s going to be a stellar year. With three new releases this spring, a new book in the works, and a spec TV pilot set to make its way around Hollywood (as soon as the WGA strike ends!), I’m excited to see what the new year brings. For now, I’ve got the 5th Heels book to start in on - Mayhem in High Heels. I can’t wait to see what Maddie does next! 11.4.07 I just got back from L.A. where I had a fabulous time at the Screenwriting Expo. I pitched a screenplay based on one of my earlier, unpublished books, Viva Las Vegas. So far, the reception has been wonderful. Keeping my fingers crossed! We’ve got a new contest up on the Killer Fiction blog. We’ll be giving away a different prize pack every two weeks and all you have to do to be entered is post a comment on our blog. Plus we’ve got a great line-up of guest bloggers scheduled for the end of the year. So, come play with us! http://killerfictionwriters.blogspot.com/ 9.25.07 I have a new bookcover! Check it out in my coming soon section. The book is part of a two part anthology called These Boots Were Made for Stomping and These Boots Were Made for Strutting. My novella, called “So I Dated an Axe Murderer”, in the Strutting volume along with novellas from Lisa Cach and Melanie Jackson. It’s due out in May 2008, and I just can’t wait! 8.28.07 Undercover in High Heels is officially in bookstores! I’m so excited, I swear it’s like the thrill of first being published all over again. I’m going to go spend the day visiting my babies in the local bookstores. If you happen to have an Undercover in High Heels sighting in your neighborhood, let me know. I love to know where they’re popping up. :) 8.17.07 I’ve banded together with five other fantastic romantic mystery writers to create a group website and blog called Killer Fiction. Come check us out and let me know what you think! www.KillerFiction.net We’ve currently got a new contest going where anyone who comments on our blog is entered to win a weekly prize pack including copies of five of our latest releases. We’re giving away one prize pack per week for five weeks, so come by and start commenting! 8.1.07 I’ve started working on new project that I’m really enjoying! It’s a novella, tentatively titled, "So I Dated an Axe Murderer", for a light paranormal anthology due out in Spring 2008. It’s a fun departure from Maddie about a Silicon Valley web designer, Kya, who buys a pair of shoes that she hopes will transform her life. But when a murder, a hot male model, and a string of psychic visions enter Kya’s life, she learns to be careful what she wishes for. I’ll keep you posted as progress continues! 7.20.07 I just got back from the RWA conference in Dallas, TX and had such a blast! In addition to seeing my agent, editor and all my fabulous author friends, Spying In High Heels took home the National Reader’s Choice award for best Mainstream novel. Very exciting! I will soon have a large, tombstone shaped trophy sitting on my desk. Pictures to follow. In the meantime, you can check out all my Dallas adventures here. 7.7.07 I've got a new website! In addition to a new look I've also added new games, a new contest, and a picture gallery. Have a look around and let me know what you think. 5.5.07
Spying In High Heels is in development for a television series on the USA Network! It is currently one of five new shows being developed for their fall 2007/2008 season. As you can imagine, I am totally psyched! Here’s a blurb on the show: Spying In High Heels follows shoe designer Maddie Springer, who realizes that her knack for fashion also serves another purpose: It makes her a great detective. Maddie's uniquely female perspective helps her pick up clues, using her designer's eye to discern tell tale shapes, colors and patterns, among other things. Along with her best friend Dana, an out-of-work actress, Maddie decides to open a detective agency operating out of her stepfather's hair salon. Producer is Larry Shuman and Executive Producer/Writer is Sara Endsley. Not ALL shows that go into development will make it on the air. At this stage, the network is putting out feelers to see which of their shows in development are creating the biggest buzz. If you want to see Maddie and Ramirez on the small screen, there are a couple of things that you can do to help “buzz” the show. 1. Blog about it! 2. Write to the USA Network and tell them you heard about Spying In High Heels and can’t wait to watch it. Or, if you’ve read the book and liked it, tell them that, too! (If you read the book and didn’t like it, please don’t tell anyone.) Here’s where you can contact the programming department at the USA Network: feedback@usanetwork.com I’ll keep you all updated as progress continues! 3.25.07 Finalists in the 2007 RITA awards were announced to day, and Spying In High Heels got two nominations! It’s a finalist in both the 'Best Novel With Strong Romantic Elements' and 'Best First Book' categories. Needless to say, I am extremely excited! The RITA awards are the top awards given to books published in romance every year. They’re the equivalent to our Oscars (if you win you even get a nifty gold statue!). Winners will be announced at a formal awards ceremony in Dallas this July. I’ll keep you posted! 2.12.07 Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I know, I'm a of couple of days early, but I'm in a Celebrating mood because… (drum roll please)… I finished the next High Heels book! Undercover In High Heels is finished and will soon be hitting the desk of my lovely editor in New York. This one should be out this summer. I'll let you know when I have a firm date. In the meantime, the countdown has begun to the release of Killer In High Heels. Only 15 days to go!
