What are Kindle and Nook?

They are ebook formats available through Amazon.com (Kindle) and BarnesandNoble.com (Nook). You can read Kindle books on a Kindle ebook reading device, of course, but you can also read Kindle books on a variety of electronic portable devices, including your iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android, or on your Mac or PC. Nook books can be read on a Nook device, or you can download a Nook app for your iPhone, iPad, Android, or PC.

First, I want to thank all the readers who have written to me and asked when they can purchase THE PERFECT SHOT. Knowing you guys are as anxious to read this as I am to see it in print is awesome. Lubs you all!

Having said that... I have decided to break ties with Dorchester Publishing, so THE PERFECT SHOT will not be out in the spring in trade paperback as previously thought. Several factors went into this decision, including the fact that the trade paperback would be at a higher price (around $15) than my previous books, which I'm sure readers wouldn't have been thrilled about. I wish everyone at Dorchester the best, but I am now looking into new homes for my books.

I will DEFINITELY be posting updates here as soon as I have information about when and where THE PERFECT SHOT will be published.

In the meantime, over the next month I will be epublishing reprints of all my High Heels books on Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook at recession friendly prices that will include new bonus material (like deleted scenes and "behind the book" stories) as well.

I just got word today that the publisher of the Hollywood Headlines books, Dorchester Publishing, has decided to do a major restructuring - namely, they will no longer be publishing mass market paperback books. Instead, they will be putting a bigger emphasis on their ebooks and publishing their print books in trade paperback size.

What this means for me: my next two Hollywood Headlines books will be available in ebook format and trade paperback (those taller, skinnier, paperback books - think the Oprah book club selections). Unfortunately, because it's going to take the company some time to transition over to the new format, it also means that my next book, The Perfect Shot, will only be available in ebook on its release date at the end of this month. The trade paperback version won't be ready now until May 2011.

I know this news may come as kind of a bummer for anyone who has been waiting to read the newest Hollywood Headlines installment, (and kind of a bummer for me, too!) but the upside is that it will still be available in all digital formats on Aug 24th, and even if you don't have an ebook reader yet (don't worry, I'm still in the non-digitized minority, too), there are formats that you can read on your computer.

I'm a RITA Finalist! Scandal Sheet is a finalist in the 2010 RWA (Romance Writers of America) RITA contest in the Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements category. I'm totally excited as the RITAs are sort of like our Oscars - with the fancy awards ceremony and everything! Winners are announced in July (though, as they say, it really is an honor just to be nominated), so keep your fingers crossed for me!
